Metallurgical and Material Engineering

M.Tech in Metallurgical & Material Engineering is a two-year postgraduate Metallurgical Engineering course. Metallurgical Engineering is concerned with the development, production, and processing of ferrous, non-ferrous, and mineral materials. It is the basis for innovative products and new technological developments in the fields of industry, technology, and medicine. The course focuses on materials design, including general research to ascertain the structure of materials and to  investigate opportunities for optimizing known materials (e.g. steel, aluminum, magnesium, glass, ceramic, etc)

Trends :

Growth in jobs in this occupation depends on the trends affecting the manufacturing sector and in particular the primary metal manufacturing industry, the use of new materials and the importance assigned to productivity by corporate management.
